It was an honor for us to receive in our project, on February 21st, the visit of the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado and other national and local authorities.
On more than one occasion, we have discussed with our collaborators and clients the vision of what the future of Samaná will be, and thanks to the initiatives announced by the current Government, we are in a position to ensure that that moment has arrived.
SAMANA OF THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE
The province of Samana is already changing with the infrastructure works already inaugurated, such as the rehabilitation of the El Limón-Playa Morón highway. On top of that, there are other works in progress such as the adaptation of infrastructures of the Samaná promenade, the remodeling and reactivation of the seafront, new cruise terminals, the entrance road to the city of Santa Barbara of Samaná and other projects in the final phase of design with a planned start of works in the coming months.
We are already beginning to see tangible changes as a prelude to numerous works and projects that will revitalize the city and the province with the greatest tourism potential still untapped in the Dominican Republic.
Let us remember the official statistics that Samaná achieved in 2020, the 65.9% average hotel occupancy, the highest in the country in that fateful year.
These data confirm us to say that it will not be a surprise that the changes and improvements that the Government has made and plans to carry out this year will continue to benefit those who have decided to invest in the future, a word that we are proud to say and that has become synonymous with Samaná.
A GREAT and historical VISIT
We must emphasize that the President brought with him not only the aforementioned realities that mean a very important change for the city of Santa Barbara and for the province of Samaná, but also showed his commitment by paying close attention to the explanations of the project managers on the development of HSB, and by showing his kindness to the HSB employees with whom he shared words and some photographs.
This visit will be remembered with affection and respect and without a doubt adds another page to the history of modern tourism development in Santa Barbara of Samaná and the province of Samaná as a whole.
We hope to receive the authorities again in the very near future on the occasion of the inauguration of the first phase of Hacienda Samana Bay.
Today we can proudly say that the word future is synonymous with Samaná.
